Voltea raises €4.5 million financing from investors (2 - 2012)

Voltea is pleased to announce that it has completed a €4.5m funding round to support the commercial roll-out of its Capacitive Deionization(CapDI) technology. The funding came from its existing shareholders, Pentair Inc, Rabo Ventures and Unilever Ventures as well as from the management team.

Pentair introduces NEW HYBRID DI SYSTEM (11 - 2011)

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands — November 1, 2011 — Pentair, Inc. (NYSE: PNR), a global leader in water treatment solutions, today unveiled its new Hybrid Deionization (Hybrid DI) system with Pentair’s CrossCharge technology, the first electronic water purification system that is practical for residential applications. Hybrid DI systems using CrossCharge technology will be the first to offer consumers the benefits of a reverse osmosis (RO) system and those of a water softener without requiring salt.

Voltea receives €1.2M order for waste water re-use application (05 - 2011)

The Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment (MIE) has awarded a €1.2M order to Voltea for the development of CapDI for wastewater recycling, specifically for agricultural use. The funding comes from the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program, which issued a call for entrepreneurs to develop new solutions to help the Netherlands adapt to changes in climate and water.

Dean Spatz new Chairman of the Board of Voltea (02 - 2011)

Voltea is happy to announce that in February 2011, Mr. Dean Spatz, Founder, former Chairman and CEO of Osmonics Inc., will be joining Voltea’s Board as Chairman. Mr. Spatz has an extensive and established track record in the water treatment industry. Prior to its acquisition by General Electric in 2003, Osmonics was a publicly owned company listed on the NYSE with over $200M in sales and 1.400 employees.

“We are proud to have Dean on board and feel that his experience and knowledge will be of great value in accelerating Voltea’s growth”, says Michiel Lensink, CEO of Voltea.

Mr. Spatz is a Registered Professional Chemical Engineer and past or present member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, American Membrane Technology Association, American Water Works Association, North American Membrane Society, International Desalting Association and American Society for Testing and Materials and is listed in "Who's Who in Engineering." He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Sigma-Aldrich Corporation, a Fortune 1000 Company, NASDAQ-listed. He was on the board of directors of the Water Quality Association, is active in the World Presidents' Organization and was on the Corporate Advisory Board for Thayer School of Engineering. He is an investor and board member of private high technology and environmentally oriented companies.

As a Chairman of the Board Mr. Spatz’s knowledge of the industry, technologies and markets will guide the board in developing and refining its strategy for Voltea. As a founder of his own venture, Osmonics, his experience in starting and growing a successful business will be invaluable.

Voltea combines all its activities with move to new location (02 - 2011)

On February 1st Voltea moved to a new location in Sassenheim. The new location combines offices, laboratories and production space all under one roof.

The company is growing rapidly and we are about to begin full scale production. This means we need a new working environment that combines production, product development, research and development, sales and marketing and back office support. Our new location building provides this and offers room for growth as well.
